Tonight Josh was racing in Altus, Oklahoma. When he arrived he knew he had a quick truck. Instead of qualifying everyone had to draw for numbers. We drew a big number meaning Josh had to start towards the rear of the 15 lap heat race. Starting third row inside, Josh knew he needed to stay on the rear bumper of the truck in front of him. Josh finished fifth in the heat, which started him fifth role inside of the feature. After a few adjustments he was ready for the feature. When the green flag dropped Josh was able to make up some positions. After a few yellow flags Josh was up to fourth place when a truck got below him and got into the drivers door, causing Josh to spin. Having to come back to the front with only a couple laps remaining in the 50 lap feature, Josh pulled out a 7th place finish for the Bud Freeman, Patriot Signs, Mckinney Auto Glass Chevrolet.

Tonight was going to be a interesting night. Greg Biffle and other crew members from many other teams were coming to Red River Speedway. Josh was really excited to get to show the Nascar guys what he could do. Josh and his crew had a lot of hours in at the shop, very disappointed on how the last race went, isn't going to let it happen again. Due to weather moving in the races were cancelled!

Opening night for the USST trucks was tonight. Josh was looking to get a great start to the season tonight in Altus, Oklahoma. After a couple practice sessions Josh and his crew knew they had some work to do. Having trouble all night getting the truck to get through the corner Josh was able to pull out a 9th qualifying run. His crew made major adjustments trying to get the 41 McKinney Auto Glass Chevrolet back to the front. Josh went out for the feature and everyone was able to make a couple practice laps. With the truck getting better Josh pull off the track to get a last minute change. Starting 7th role inside he was able to make up a couple positions but fighting the chassis setup Josh just wasn't on the same pace as the leaders. With most of the 50 laps ran under green Josh was able to pull out a 7th place finish for his McKinney Auto Glass Chevrolet.

Today we tested a new truck. We ran at Red River Speedway today and ran around a hundred laps testing and tuning. There were many changes we had to make to get the truck up too the right lap times that we knew we needed to run. We will be running in Altus, Oklahoma on Saturday the 3rd. That's when we will debut the new truck. We will have pictures updated soon.
Saturday August 29th
It was an unusual Saturday night at the race track. The sun was shining, but the high was 80 degrees. With the cooler weather, we knew that the car was going to run better. In the heat race I started inside second row. Taking the green I was able to move to the high line and move into second. I was behind the 77 and was trying to figure away around. On the last lap I went to the high line in turn three and couldn't make it stick and spun out. I was able to finish third. In the feature I was pretty much the same story. I made my way to the front after starting on the back due to winning the feature last weekend. For about ten laps I worked on the 77 to find a way around. I wasn't able to get by I finished 2nd in the feature for Jackson Motorsports.

Saturday August 22nd
Tonight, I was running the Mod 4 and the LMST Super Truck. In the Mod, I started the heat race outside row two. When I took the green flag I made it three wide coming out of turn two to take the lead. We had one caution lap and I was able to win the heat.
In the feature I started in the same position. For fifteen laps I followed the 77 of Debbie Cullar trying to find a way around. On lap sixteen I was able to get a good run on the high side. After a couple laps of battling for position, I was able to make the pass and win for Jackson Motorsports Mod 4.
Josh Cournoyer in NASKART
In the LMST I qualified 5th with an 15.1 lap time. When we took the green flag I was able to stay on the back bumper of my teammate 55 of Brad Queen. I followed the 55 and the 31 for a couple laps when the 55 got loose going into turn three. I was able to sneak by and run down the 31 of Brandon Pinson. I was working hard on getting by him when there was contact resulting in us both checking up. The 55 got a good run on the outside and was able to pull up beside the 31. There was contact between the two trucks, and the 31 was turned sideways in front of me. With no where to go, I collected him which brought out a the caution. The 31 and I went to the back and I wasn't able to make my way back up to the front with the damages I received in the wreck. I finished 7th.

Saturday August 8th
Today we went to Mrytle Beach Speedway in Mrytle Beach, South Carolina. This track was a half mile and would be the first time i've been on a track of this size. Qualifying did not go as good as we had hoped. I qualified 18th. When the green flag dropped of the 50 lap feature I was able to get around a couple of trucks on the high line. We had a couple cautions and when the checkered flag came out I was able to get a 11th place finished right behind my teammate 55 of Brad Queen for my Rock and Roll Offroad and Bud Freeman Construction Chevrolet.

Saturday August 1st
We were running the Mod 4 and the Truck tonight. In the Mod 4, I started outside second row in the heat race. I was able to take over the lead on lap three. With about five laps left the 01 had a run on the outside and was able to make the pass and win the heat race while I finished second. In the feature we started the same way. Again I was able to get the lead and hold off the 01 for a couple laps. He had gotten another run on the outside and there was contact which brought out a caution. I was put to the back for being involved. I was able to come back and win the feature. I was DQ.
In the Truck we qualified 5th, fighting the chassis setup all night. When I took the green flag, I was able to gain a couple of positions. I was battling with the 1 of Mark Pinson the whole race and was never able to get by. I finished 3rd with an caution free race.

Saturday July 18th
We headed to Houston to run the truck today. It was a 3/8 mile track. In the first practice session we were having a problem with fuel. I was fourth fastest in the first session. My crew and I made a few changes to truck. I went out for our next session and was able to move up to second fastest behind my teamate number 55 of Brad Queen. We made a few more changes to try and get a little more out of he truck. Before I was able to see if our changes help in the heat race mother nature wouldn't lets us go any farther. The racing program was cancelled.

Event: Red River Speedway LMST Truck & Mod 4

Tonight I was running the Mod 4 and the truck. I went out first for the heats in the the Mod 4. I started outside front row. At the beginning of the race, the 01 of Bubba Issac started inside of me, and had gotten a good start to pull ahead of me. I was never able to gain any ground on the 01 and finished 2nd in the heat race.
In the feature, I started outside third row. We entered turn one with the first three rows still side by side. I was able to get to the bottom groove and pass a couple of cars. I took the lead, and couple laps later the 01 was able to get below me and take over the lead. Trying to run down the 01, I burned up my right rear tire and became really lose. With about five laps to go, the 77 of Debbie Cullar passed me and I finished third for Jackson Motorsports.
Josh Cournoyer Mod 4 & LMST Super Truck
My crew and I were excited to get a good run out of the truck. We made a couple changes to the truck in the weeks that we were off. We made a few hot laps and we knew that we had a good truck tonight. I went out third in the qualifying order. I qualified third with a 15.2. I was satisfied because I knew that the truck had more in it. When the green flag dropped, I followed my teammate the 55 of Brad Queen till we were single file. We ran around 25 laps until our first caution. I was able to finished a strong second for the Bud Freeman, Rock and Roll Offroad Chevrolet.

Saturday July 4th-5th
Event: Red River Speedway Mod 4

This weekend was a big race for everyone. It was a two day show with qualifying and heat races on Saturday and features on Sunday. The weather all weekend was bad. Saturday was a day full of rain. We were able to make a couple hot laps in the mod 4 and my crew and I made some changes to get the car around a slick race track. I went out for qualifying and was able to put the Jackson Motorsports mod 4 on the pole. Unfortunately we were not able to get much farther before mother nature took over putting the heat races and features off until Sunday. On Sunday there wasn't much difference in the weather with a slight mist of rain about every ten minutes. We were able to get the show going. In the heat race I started pole with the 53 of Matt Rose on the outside. At the start of the race we were having carberation issue due to the humidity in the air, so we didn't get the start we were wanting. Going into turn one I followed the 53, I was able to look under and get the pass for the lead and never looked back. I was able to win the heat. Winning the heat and qualifying number one I was able to start pole in the feature as well. I didn't get another good start like the heat race but coming out of turn four of the first lap I made the pass on the high side and was able to win the 4th of July shootout for Jackson Motorsports.

Event: Red River Speedway Mod 4

Another typical 100 degree day at Red River Speedway. I was only running the mod 4 tonight and only made one set of hot laps due to the heat on the track. The hot lap I made I was really loose from the center out. I wasn't able to get back on the throttle like I needed to. So my crew and I made some changes. In the heat race I was starting outside front row.The start of the race the 38 of Deann Young and I went into turn one side by side. I was able to pull ahead of her coming out of turn 2. I managed to hold on to the lead and win the heat. Pretty satisfied with the racecar we didn't make any adjustments. In the feature I started outside 2nd row. About 5 laps into the feature I took the lead. On lap 12 of 15 I ran into turn 3 and a lap car came down and I had to lock up the brakes. I spun out and had to restart on the back. When the green flag came out I was on a mission to get the win for Jackson Motorsports. I was only able to make it back up to second.

Event: Red River Speedway LMST Trucks & Mod 4

Tonight was going to be another busy night for the crew and I. I was running the Mod 4 and the LMST Truck. In the last two races, we haven't had much race time due to the weather raining us out. Made a couple hot laps in the Mod 4 and knew we had a fast car. Entering the heat race I started inside 3rd row. When the green fag dropped, it took about three laps to get the Jackson Motor sports Mod 4 to the front. I was able to hold off the hard charging 01 of Bubba Issac. In the feature, I started last due to winning the last Mod 4 feature race. It took about 10 laps to get to the front and lead the race. Once out in front, a caution came out for about 30 minutes due to a blown engine. We restarted with the lead. And into turn one where the engine had blown, it was pretty slick, I ended up loosing it and spun out. I had to restart last and try to make it back to the front with five laps to go. On the white flag lap I went to the outside of the leader and wasn't able to make it stick coming out of turn four. Finishing with a Second place finish.

Josh Cournoyer LMST Truck 6-20-2009

We made a few changes to the truck hoping it would give us a tenth or so on the stop watch. In hot laps the truck was running very well but had to make a few adjustments to make me satisfied. For qualifying, I didn't have a good run like a was wanting. I qualified 3rd behind the 77 of Buddy Morgan and our teammate the 55 of Brad Queen in a field of 15. On the start of the 50 lap feature I was able to stay on the back bumper of the 77 and follow in 2nd place for a couple laps. About 10 laps into the feature I became very lose and was passed by the 83 and the 55. Our first caution of the day came out and I was over heating so I had to exit the track to get the truck cooled off. Returning to the track I was able to stay on the lead lap thanks to my crew. Restarting last I knew that I had some work ahead of me. When the green flag came back out I was able to pass about 3 or 4 trucks on the high side before the caution came out once again. I had to leave the track once again due to a left rear that was coming apart. Once again my crew was able to help me out and get me back out on the lead lap. Once again I had to come from the back. With about 25 laps we restarted the race, I was able to pass some trucks and work my way into 7th place. The leaders then had a wreck and I was able to avoid it with no damage. Restarting 5th with about 5 laps to go, I wasn't able to gain and positions and brought home a hard fought 5th place finish for The Rock and Roll, Bud Freeman Construction Chevrolet.

It was hot all day, and we new that the track was going to be pretty slick. I went out for numerous hot laps in the truck trying to make it faster. We made some adjustments to the suspension, and went to bleed the front brakes and we broke off the bleeder on the right front caliper, just moments before qualifying. My crew and I thrashed to get the 41 Bud Freeman Construction and Patriot Sign Chevrolet done to qualify. We were able to qualify 3rd even with our trouble. After qualifying I had a race in the Mod 4. I started outside 2nd row. I ran all 10 laps trying to run down the 69 of Gage Cull ar but was not able to catch him finishing 2nd in the heat. Before we could go any farther in the racing program the rain came down. Canceling the racing program.
We will continue the program this Saturday the 13th.

May 30, 2009

Today it was really hot which made the track extremely slick. I went out for the first set of hot laps and right away we knew that we had some work ahead of us. The car felt good, we just couldn't get it to enter the turn like we liked. We came in and check the stagger, and numerous other things to try and find the issue. We went ahead and changed the stagger on the car, and went out for another set of hot laps. Now, I could get in the corner without an issue, but I had a terrible push through the corners. My crew and I kept working on the car and finally got it to where we were comfortable with the set-up. Entering the heat race, I was starting 3rd, and when the green flag dropped I followed the number 77 of Debbie Cullar to the front of the pack. For about 5 laps I followed the 77. A couple laps later, I finally made a pass on the high side going into turn three, and was able to hold on to the lead and win the heat race.

Now, in the feature, I started inside 2nd row just the same as in the heat race. the 77 was lined up right in front of me once again. When the green flag dropped, I made a move to the inside in turn one on the first lap, and made the pass. Only had one caution the whole race and I was able to give Jackson Motorsports there 3rd win of the year!

Event: Red River Speedway Texas Pro Sedans & Mod 4 Class

This was a special weekend for Red River Speedway, the track welcomed the Texas Pro Sedans who are entering their 34th consecutive season of racing. We won 2 of 3 races last year when the TPS event came to Red River Speedway.

The racing schedule was different this weekend due to the holiday weekend. The Mod 4 class had to qualify, then have two 15 lap qualifiers to set up the line up for Sunday. The Pro Sedans were to qaulify each day and have two separate 40 lap features, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday. We would like to thank the track and the Texas Pro Sedans for a great weekend of racing.

Friday 5-22-09
Friday was a practice session for all the classes. I was running both the Jackson Motorsports' Mod 4 and the Pro Sedan this weekend. I went out in the Pro Sedan and knew we had some work to do when we had carbeuration issues. We made a few tuning changes and went back on the track for a few more runs. I also made a couple of practice laps in the Mod 4, and we were happy with the performance of both of cars, so we loaded up and got ready for Saturday.

Saturday 5-23-09

On Saturday, we qualified in both classes, but in the Mod 4 we ran two additional qualifying heat races to set us up for Sunday's race. In the Pro Sedan we had qualifying. and than just ran a 40 lap feature. We qualified first in the Mod 4. Which started us pole for the first heat race. I was not able to get a good start, which allowed the 53 of Matt Rose to pass us. For about 10 laps I followed the 53 trying to figure out how to get by him. I had a good run and went to the high side and passed him on the last lap to get the win in the first heat race. On the 2nd heat race the rack inverted the field which started us last. I took my time making my way through the field, knowing that I had a big race Sunday and didn't need to tear anything up. With about 5 laps left we had a caution, which bunched the field back up, and I would be restarting 2nd behind the 53 on Matt Rose. I had an excellent run just like the first heat race and was able to pull up to his door but just didn't have enough to win it, we finished 2nd by a margin of .008 seconds.

In the Pro Sedan we qualified 4th to place us on the outside 2nd row. In the 40 lap feature, I had a really good start and was able to pull ahead of third place. We had numerous cautions and due to mother nature it was rained out and we finished 3rd with only 8 laps under green.

Sunday 5-24-09
Sunday was the big day for everyone. In the Pro Sedan we qualified again. We were chasing the setup on the Pro Sedan all day Sunday due to a slick track from the rain Saturday. I was able to qualify 6th. When the green flag dropped we all went into turn one door to door. We ran door to door for about 3 laps until everyone fell in line. I was running with the leaders until I ran over debris with my right rear tire causing me to be really loose. The 14 of Scott Fortin got by and I was able to hold on to a 4th place finish for the Texoma Tire and Brake Bearing and Clutch Ford Pinto.
Josh Cournoyer Mod 4 Red River Speedway
In the Mod 4 class, I started pole due to my passing points I received Saturday in the qualifying races. When the green flag dropped I took no time getting out front. About 15 laps into our 30 lap feature the 01 of Bubba Issac had a run to the inside of me and there was contact resulting in me spining into turn three. We both were moved to the back of the field. It didn't take me very long to get back to the front. On lap 24 the 01 went to the high side of turn 4 and the was contacted once again cutting down my right front tire. I had to exit the track and change the tire. My crew was able to change the tire and get me back on the track still under caution. I made my way back up for a 2nd place finish and had a solid run for the Jackson Motorsports Mod 4.

I would just like to thank my crew, my dad, and Jackson Motorsports for an awesome weekend of racing.

Event: Red River Speedway LMST & Mod 4 Class

Mod 4
Started the heat race on the outside front row. On the 4th we went to the outside to take the lead, with only caution, we were able to take the win in the heat race. In the feature, we were able to start on the pole position due to a car that moved to the back. We ran side by side with the 38 car of Deann Young for 5 laps when we got hit from behind by the 01 and were spun out. The 01 and I had to go to the back of the pack, and make our way back through the field, which we did.. The 01 and I were battling back up through the field trying to take over the lead. We managed to get back up to the leader and I made a move to the inside. A 3 laps battle with the 38 ensued, when a good run gave me the chance to take the lead and we never looked back, giving Jackson Motor sports there 2nd win this year.

LMST Trucks:
During the hot laps we knew we were in for a challenge, due to the rain all morning and the heat from the sun that afternoon the track lacked grip. We went out for qualifying and we were still fighting the chassis. We qualified with a 15.4 and our team mate 55 Brad Queen qualified pole at a 15.1. My crew and I worked vigorously to get the chassis on our truck right to get the 41 to the winners circle. We made quite a few changes, and the trucks were able to make a couple hot laps during intermission. The chassis adjustments that the crew and I made helped. Still needing a few thousandths of a second to run with our teammate, we made even more changes. We started outside front row with the 55 inside. When the green flag dropped, we ran side by side for about 6 laps when I fell in behind our team mate the 55.. We ran 25 laps with less than a truck length separating us, but we couldn't gain any ground on the 55. Than on lap 26 we had our first and only caution, setting up a shoot out for the finish. I tried to set up the 55 a couple times and finally had a good run on the last lap, but wecouldn't get by the 55 of Brad Queen, taking home a solid 2nd place finish in our #41 Rock and Roll Offroad and Bud Freeman Construction Chevrolet.

Event: Red River Speedway Mod 4 Class

Another night where the weather was questionable, yet it still held off to allow for some great racing. I was racing Jackson Motorsports Mod 4 tonight, the trucks had the weekend off. We started the heat race on the inside 2nd row. By the first lap of the heat, we had moved into second, and were trying to run down the 69 of Gage Cullar. We were unable to get by the 69 and finished 2nd in the heat race.

After a few chassis adjustments, we entered the trophy dash before intermission to test our changes. Starting outside front row, we made a pass for the lead in turn two of the 1st lap. An exciting battle for the lead took place and we managed to hold off the 69 to take home a trophy for Jackson Motorsports.

In the feature, we started at the back of the pack due to our victory last weekend. We worked our way through traffic, and by lap 5 we were in 3rd tying to run down the 01 of Bubba Issac and the 69 of Gage Cullar. With about 5 to go the 01 spun out and brought out a caution and set up a shoot out for the win between the 69 and I. Gage got a great jump on the restart, and we were unable to run him down resulting in a 2nd place finish.

Event: Red River Speedway LMST Trucks & Mod 4 Classes

Tonight would be a busy night for us at the track. I was racing the LMST truck along with the Mod 4 of Jackson Motorsports. The weather held off long enough for the races to take place on Saturday.

As for the Mod 4, we had made some changes from the previous week to the car to put ourselves in a position to compete for a win. In the heat races we held off the #01 of Bubba Issac for the pole position. In the feature race we maintained the lead the entire race for a solid victory.

Now the #41 LMST truck, the track was ok for Mod 4 racing but was slick for the faster trucks. We were able to qualify 2nd with a 15.2 lap time while our team mate, #55 Brad Queen, took the pole with a 15.1 lap time. We started outside front row, and were able to make a good run for the lead with great side-by-side action. However, a few laps into the feature, debris on the track found it's way under the truck damaging the sway bar in the process. We were able to hold on to 2nd for the rest of the feature.

A week before the LMST trucks return to RRS, we were in Jackson Motorsports' Mod 4 again. We wrecked in the heat race trying to pass on the outside and were forced into the wall, the #53 had no where to go and drove into my driver's side. I was able to shake off the accident and finish the heat race 2nd. We were on the outside pole going into the feature. A pass on the first lap we took the lead. Then a mechanical failure caused an early departure from the race.

Another night off for the LMST trucks, so Jackson Motorsports asked me to drive their Mod 4 once again. A wreck in the heat put us outside third row for the feature. The #01 of Bubba Issac and I moved steadily through the pack. Bubba made a good pass on the inside to take the lead. I followed closely behind. We were able to maintain our position for a 2nd place finish.

The LMST trucks were off tonight so I was asked to drive a Modified 4 car for Jackson Motorsports. The car was brand new and this was its first time on the track. Had just enough time to hotlap before the skies opened up. The track officials at RRS tried diligently to dry the track and get racing started again. However mother nature would not allow it and the rain came once more.

Event: Lewisville Motorsports Super Trucks

Tonight was a special night for Red River Speedway, an appearance from he #16 Greg Biffle and his crew was expected. The crew was on hand before the race began and Greg Biffle was expected to fly in from Ft. Worth and make an entrance. The buzz around the track was that Biffle and his crew were determined to break the track record set by us the previous year. A full qualifying and exciting race was set up for the Biffle and his crew to race the LMST drivers' own trucks against themselves. Unfortunately due to high winds, Biffle's helicopter was grounded and the record attempt by Mr. Biffle himself would have to wait. His crew, however, still raced in their own personal attempt for the record. None of which were successful. We would like to thank Ryan Dextraze and the entire crew for a fun evening.

Now for us. After an oil down of the track before qualifying, we were still able to qualify #2 behind our team mate Brad Queen, who was able to get a handle on the track to get the pole. We were fighting handling issues in qualifying and hot laps, we tried to make the right adjustments before the feature. It just was not enough to stay with our team mate #55. After the first side by side lap, Brad took the lead and held strong all night. We were able to make a strong showing by holding 2nd place with ease, but unfortunately the 55 had a good truck and was able to make it work on the slick track.

March 21, 2009
Event: Lewisville Motorsports Super Trucks Opening Day.

On a warm humid Saturday night we debuted a new truck on the LMST opening day. The track was a little slick due to lack of racing since it rained out the past weekend. We had a few mechanical problems when a spark plug wire gave out. Even on seven cylinders we were able to qualify #1 with a 15.1 lap time. After qualifying we did the necessary changes to fix the # 41 and make her race-ready.

In the feature she (#41) was running strong holding the lead through the halfway point with ease. After holding off a hard charging #31 for a majority of the race, the gremlins prevailed. The spark plug wires we worked vigorously to fix in between races kissed the headers more than once, which put us down a couple of cylinders. Unfortunately, we had to finish the last 8-10 laps on 6 cylinders. The #31, our teammate #55, along with the #44 were able to sneak by and we finished the race 4th.
